On Wednesday 13th March 2024 was held the UK GREAT Campaign Media Event. We were employed to organize the event itself by the Cross Cultural Marketing Agency based in Japan, RCS, while the agency took care of the marketing surrounding the event. It was our first time collaborating with them, but we think it was a success, and we hope they do too !

We were employed to organize the event itself by the Cross Cultural Marketing Agency based in Japan, RCS, while the agency took care of the marketing surrounding the event.

It was a new experience for us to have someone think of the concept from A to Z and then think of the best ways to implement them visually, to support participant’s understanding of the event while keeping it beautiful.

A representative selection of the wealth of British food products.

The event’s main objective was introducing 5 selected UK products to a selection of media to help develop Japanese people’s awareness of said products and nurture a want of using these products in their daily lives.

The selected products were :

  • Scottish Mackerel
  • English Cheddar
  • English Sparkling Wine
  • Northern Irish Whiskey & Gin
  • Welsh Whiskey & Gin

The food products were presented in the form of 4 bentos :

  • 100% Japanese style
  • 70% Japanese 30 % British style
  • 70% British 30% Japanese style
  • 100% British style

This allowed for people to discover or rediscover the products in the familiar ways of bento making.

The fact that we were approaching the Sakura (cherry) blossoms season, aka picnic season, was also a deciding factor for choosing this presentation.

There were 5 cocktails.

4 of them were easily accessible and light cocktails that anyone can do at home while 1 was a little bit more specific to cocktail making needing the use of a shaker.

It was a great way to showcase how easily you can enjoy fancy drinks at home, with good products that you don’t always think of pairing with the ingredients that were introduced.

Regarding the creation of the menus & cocktail we called on our trusted suppliers who did a fantastic job, despite the time constraints, so big thanks to them !

In red, Clara Bodin our multilingual MC and next to her Alex Ewis, the event’s mixologist.

It was also the first time we called on a professional MC to lead the event, and we thought it was a great investment.

It allowed us to focus on the behind the scenes things that needed to be done such as cleaning glasses, clearing tables, checking this and that with the staff, and most of all it made sure that the guests were well informed about all the products presented during the event, in a timely manner and in an interactive way.

All in all the event was a good way for us to apply our knowledge of event organisation to a new setting, and catered to the media exclusively.
